Update as of August 22, 2013

Hi all – If you remember, OC had collaborated with industry and faculty for a few AW wide curriculum development sessions and developed a Google site to store related Electronics documents.  We took your input on the curriculum objectives for the 1 year Electronics Certificate and have been working to develop the curriculum pieces for online publication.  I am pleased to announce that we have made some significant headway.

For those of you that don’t know, Tom Jacobs, our Instructional Designer moved on to another employer.  In his efforts, he was assisted by Rebecca Evenhus and she has taken on the coordination and development of this for OC.  She has now posted online all of our labs associated with our Elect 111 (DC Circuits Laboratory), and Elect 112 (Alternating Current Circuit Lab).   Elect 113 (Basic Solid-State Laboratory), Elect 166 (Introduction to Digital Logic), and Elect 106 (Electronics Fabrication) should be uploaded soon.  That means that all of the labs for the 1 year cert will be available online!   We are just starting to upload the first two modules of the DC Theory class (Elect 101) and we are hoping to start cranking out two modules per week.

We want your feedback and hope to engage in a group discussion.  In fact, this is actually a grant deliverable!  The Google site is not overly conducive to posting from others, so we have set up a Wiggio page.  You will be invited to this via email.  Please accept membership to this group, which will offer direct links to the curriculum modules and will also allow you  to provide your feedback.

I look forward to hearing your comments!

Best regards,
